Ask Nichole Jett about her favorite place in the world, and she answers quickly: “Paris.” She loves its pace, culture, and the simple pleasure of wandering a city that feels both elegant and lived-in. Travel remains one of her favorite ways to learn, explore, and recharge.
Today, as Senior Manager of Client Services in TPG’s Employee Benefits practice, Nichole is celebrating 20 years at TPG. When asked what she’s most proud of, she doesn’t point to a title or accomplishment. Instead, she reflects on the relationships she’s built, the people she’s helped, and the culture that has made TPG feel like home from the very beginning.

What do you remember about those early days at TPG?
Nichole: I remember how small we were. When I started, there were about 30 employees company-wide across two offices. Because we were a smaller company, everyone wore many different hats. We didn’t have the specialized teams, technology, or resources that we have today, so everybody pitched in to get things done. We were support teams. We were marketers. We did whatever needed to happen. The other thing I remember is how welcoming everyone was. From day one, I felt like part of the team. I never second-guessed coming to TPG.
You’ve seen the company grow significantly. What surprises you most when you look back?
Nichole: How much has stayed the same. We’ve grown tremendously in size and capabilities, but our core values and culture have stayed remarkably consistent. New employees are often surprised by how happy people seem to be here, and I tell them it’s because we are happy to be here. With all the growth we’ve experienced, you might expect to lose some of that along the way. But we haven’t.
Your connection to TPG began before you worked here. What stood out to you then?
Nichole: I worked with TPG for five years on the vendor side before I came here. That’s where I first got to know people like Rod Cruickshank, Kim Seeley, and Mark Mills. I admired how they worked with clients, but what stood out even more was how they treated their partners. They were curious, kind, collaborative, and respectful. Even as a vendor, you felt like part of the team. I remember telling my husband that if I ever moved to the broker side, TPG was where I wanted to go.
What has kept you here for 20 years?
Nichole: The people. I’ve only had one other employer, but that gave me enough perspective to understand how much culture matters. The people here genuinely care about one another and want each other to be successful. They care about our clients and our community. Sometimes when we hire people right out of college, I wish they had another workplace to compare it to, because then they would understand how special this environment really is.
Which TPG core value resonates most with you today?

Nichole: “Own It.” Over the years, I’ve tried to approach my role with responsibility, not just for my own work, but for helping others. That comes from those early days when all of us were so interconnected and relied on each other. Whether it’s supporting clients, improving processes, training employees, or mentoring teammates, some of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had have come from taking ownership and watching projects and people grow over time.
You’ve mentioned that travel is one of your passions. Where did that interest come from?
Nichole: I’ve always loved to travel, and earlier in my life, I was drawn to the idea of becoming a flight attendant because it seemed like a great way to see the world and meet new people. As my career developed, I moved more deeply into employee benefits and discovered a field I really loved. I still enjoy traveling whenever I can, but I’m grateful for the relationships, opportunities, and experiences this career has given me.
What is one word you would use to describe your 20 years at TPG?
Nichole: Rewarding. When I reflect on the last 20 years, I’m most proud of the people, relationships, and opportunities I’ve been a part of. It’s rewarding to have contributed to TPG’s growth while staying true to the values that make it such a special place to work.
