We are pleased to announce that The Partners Group (TPG) has partnered with the American Heart Association, with our CEO Rod Cruickshank as the 2021 AHA Heart & Stroke Walk Chair. Joining forces with the AHA aligns with TPG’s goals as a company: to give back in our communities, to stay active, and have fun. We believe in AHA’s mission are excited to join them for the virtual walk on Sat., June 5.

Cruickshank says, “TPG is a purpose-driven company. It’s in our DNA to make a difference through our work and inspire others to do the same. We plan to partner with AHA through the next several years.”

The American Heart Association is devoted to saving people from heart disease and stroke – two of America’s leading killers. They team with millions of volunteers like those at TPG to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat these diseases. The Dallas-based association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.

The Partners Group volunteering program started in 2009 when the economy fell; however, the program has continued to evolve and grow every year since. TPG employees are encouraged to volunteer during the year on paid company time as part of our wellness program FRESH – Fun, Responsible Engagement for Sustainable Health. This company-wide program encourages and incentivizes personal, family, community, and environmental activities for employees.

In conjunction with the 2021 AHA Heart & Stroke Walk, TPG employees participated in a FRESH Spring Heart Walk Challenge, which good-naturedly pits co-worker teams (the Holy Walkamolies, the Walking Dead, and Team Zoom, to name a few) against one another to compete for most walks each week. The team that wins the week receives a small reward and a donation to the AHA in their name.

Grace Cruickshank, TPG’s Wellbeing Coordinator (and Rod’s daughter), says, “TPG feels strongly about encouraging our employees to live healthy lifestyles outside of work as well as during the workday. We know that if employees are taking care of their physical and mental wellbeing, they will be more engaged and ready to work! Because this particular FRESH challenge was for teams, it was easy to get our employees excited about a friendly competition. TPG has always been supportive of the work that the American Heart Association is doing, so combining our FRESH challenge with a fundraising challenge was a perfect fit.”

TPG’s long-term goals demonstrate their ongoing commitment to being purpose driven and employee owned. “Give30” is TPG’s 10-year goal to have given back $30 million in time and money to the community and to have expanded firm ownership to 100% of TPG employees by the end of 2030.
