Ok. Let’s be clear. This isn’t a camp-out. Not even a glamp-out. Our annual TPG Offsite retreat is a high-style, treat-yourself, let-your-hair-down couple of days at one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful resorts – Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, WA, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.
It’s not all fun and games (although those are included). The two-day event is the one time every year where all TPGers from near and far come together to do a little work and socialize. For many, it’s their only chance to hang out with their far-flung co-workers in person!
Day One is for our sales teams, who gather from Portland, Renton, Bend, Boise, Austin, and remote-office spots to do a full day of training. It culminates in a little friendly sales competition before some down time and socialization.
On Day Two, all our TPG co-workers arrive at the lodge, along with colleagues from our sponsoring carrier partners. It’s a great opportunity to spend face-to-face, in-real-life time with the partners and co-workers with whom you email, Zoom, call, and text on a regular basis.
A lunch presentation featuring just a little bit of work talk is followed by . . . four hours of down time. How great is that? The only task at hand is to unwind and relax in anything from massage to ziplining to exploring the Gorge on one’s own. Happy hour follows, along with dinner featuring a presentation from our CEO Brad Nantz. And then comes the entertainment – karaoke with a live band? Yes. Cornhole? Sure. Dancing? Of course. And don’t miss out on a team pic in the photo booth.
