The bags were flying, the crowd was buzzing, and the competition was fierce at the TPG Foundation’s 4th Annual TPG Throwdown: Cornhole for a Cause. More than 60 teams stepped up to the boards, cheered on by friends and colleagues, while sponsor-provided beverages and food trucks kept everyone fueled with libations, BBQ, and ice cream. With over 20 generous sponsors behind the event and our wonderful community turning out in full force, the day was a true celebration.

This year’s Throwdown raised funds for two local nonprofits: Camp Yakety Yak and Project Lemonade. Both organizations are dedicated to uplifting kids in the Portland community – Project Lemonade helps youth in foster care build confidence and thrive, while Camp Yakety Yak offers inclusive summer day camps for children with special needs, along with their siblings.

Thanks to the incredible support from players, donors, and partners, the Throwdown raised a total of $85,975 – funds that will directly spark brighter futures for countless kids.

“Each year, our events grow stronger, in the spirit of community they create,” says Emily-Rose Galati, executive director of the TPG Foundation. “It’s inspiring to see how the energy carries forward from one event to the next, and we’re already excited to see what next year will bring.”

Of course, no event of this scale comes together without helping hands. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to the many volunteers who pitched in to make the day seamless and successful.

What’s Next?
The excitement continues! Our 2026 beneficiary selection process will soon be underway – what an inspiration to see the applications coming in (due by October 13)! Soon, we’ll reveal which two non-profits in the Seattle and Portland areas will step into the spotlight as next year’s beneficiaries. Until then, stay tuned – because the fun, games, and community impact are only growing stronger. In the summer, we will host the 3rd Annual Paddle Palooza: Pickleball With a Purpose event at our Seattle Metro offices, while our 5th Annual TPG Throwdown: Cornhole for a Cause will take place later that year – dates TBD!
