On August 30, TPG hosted the second annual TPG Throwdown: Cornhole for a Cause, a competitive fundraiser open to colleagues, coworkers, and all others at Hillsboro Stadium outside of Portland. The goal for the 2023 event was to reach $100,000 to give to this year’s chosen recipients – Sam Day Foundation and A Village for One.

And the final tally came in at…

$103,530!

“We are so thrilled with the amount of money raised,” says TPG Foundation Executive Director Emily-Rose Galati. “Our community, clients, and carrier partners really showed up to help us make a game-changing difference for two very deserving nonprofit organizations.”

“A Village for One is so grateful for the amazing donation as a result of the TPG throwdown,” says Executive Director Cassie Strahan. “A Village for One is here to serve our youth and their families, and we can only do what we do with the support of groups and individuals such as yourselves. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with TPG, and will soon be purchasing the van which will serve our youth on a daily basis. Thank you again for all you do.”

Lorna Day, executive director of Sam Day Foundation added, “The Throwdown was a perfect expression of the TPG culture and it was an honor to be a recipient of such enthusiastic philanthropy. They really know how to have fun for a good cause. The donation to SDF came at a pivotal time for our growth, and it will surely be used to maximize its transformative potential for advancing childhood cancer research.”

We are grateful to everyone who worked, sponsored, and participated the 2nd annual TPG Throwdown: Cornhole for a Cause. A big thanks to our 47 TPG volunteers and 65 cornhole teams!
